Hi everyone ,
While i have the chance , just want to wish you all a very Happy Christmas , and i hope 2013 brings you all that you hope and dream of dancingsanta christmas happy

Reflecting back on 2012 , was it a good one for you ?
Thinking back on it , is there anything you would have done differently ? Anything you feel you did really well in, during the year -or something that you feel you could improve on ? Things / people you are thankful for that have helped you during the year , or regrets for the loss of something or someone that was perhaps beyond your reach or control ?
Losses and gains i'm sure , are something we can all refect on , now that 2012 is nearly over .

As i look back , i am very aware of losses and gains throughout the year --where i appreciate the special people in my life -
For still having both parents who adore me and my love for them both grows daily -
For a career in which i seem to be doing well , but in which i continue to learn daily --that has seen me promoted twice in one year .
For loosing a man who loved me very much to cancer aged only 44 in April -
For loosing a good female friend to suicide in the summer-

For having incredible friends , being there for each other in good times and bad -
And for CS --since joining in July has been an experience i will never forget --having met some fantastic people , who are the same on the phone and in real life as they are in cyberworld !
To those on C/S who have made me smile , laugh , have educated me , i thankyou -it has been wonderful !
Care to share any of your reflections on this past year ?

It was a mixed bag...There are some decisions I made I regret and some inactions also, wish I had taken that extra step....But nothing too major...

Ran into an old friend I had lost touch with a few yrs back so am really pleased about that...She and I just took up where we left off like we had always been purple heart

Still hv both my parents thankfully tho my dad is starting to lose his grip on reality a bit quicker now...He thought Gene Pitney cut his hair last week doh

I know we can make changes at any time of the year but something about a new year and clean slate to add some vigour...

So in some ways and looking forward to a new year and putting this one in the past where it belongs...

yes indeed Jenny , and thanks so much for your post thumbs up
as i mentioned in my earlier post , i have met some wonderful people here since joining , and that includes you ! You are as genuine as the day is long --no nonsense -respectful -a lady for whom family means the whole world and yet with a brilliant sense of humour !
I agree , this time of year , is is good look back , see where we can improve , and perhaps make changes -but accept what we cannot -
but most of all it is a time for appreciating all that we do have in our lives - , to look forward and always have hope for wonderful start to a brand new year !hug

Ty and likewise...Ya family is ultra important, never want to look back and have any regrets when they are gone (parents that is lol) tho my dad is fading out so quickly now its hard to watch but can also be funny and you have to laugh at some of the humdingers he comes out with....He doesnt talk much now and makes very little eye contact but now and then he says something very random...He told my youngest son he used to be a boxer (he was a golfer) and apparently he ran into Oliver Reed a while back and they had lunch, the fact he has been dead for about 13 yrs seemed irrelevant to him...laugh

your family are a credit Jenny --you should feel rightly proud of the love and respect you show each other and especially to your Dad hug
And yes , through my work , i have experienced similar " humdingers" as you call them !
But then in the lucid moments , you see glimpses of the person they used to be , and those moments are to be cherished hug

Thanks hun.

Cant pretend this year has been easy and I hope never to have another one like it. Since April have spent more time in hospital than out of it. Have had a couple of times it looked like I might not make it and a couple of times when I didnt want to. For the most part it was a case of "whats going to be thrown at me next" and if I hear the word "rare" one more time I will commit murder lol, never been one for the why me thing though, sure why not me.

Have met some of the most wonderful people and laughed more than I have cried, humour on an oncology ward is almost hysterical, like we have to get as many laughs in as we can lol, nah not really, I think its just that at times like that people are more open to the humour in things and want to make the most of every minute.

I have seen the strength in my children and am so proud of them, I did a damn good job even if I do say so myself. Have gotten so much pleasure from the chat and laughter of my grandson I could burst.

Cant wait for the next year, bring it on.
