Have you ever had a question on your mind, that you don't know how to describe with any words? If so what helps?

Frequently.

I just chip away at it, either by talking as best as I can to other people until inspiration hits, or by leaving it stew around in my head until inspiration hits.

Sometimes we just don't have the knowledge to start asking the right questions, so again talk to others, or research online, whatever until the knowledge starts to build and takes you to where you want to be.

I think it possibly happens to people who think in colours, images, or feelings, more often than people who think in words.

i was gonna say...vocabulary development.. laugh

but i get stuck too.
i will keep bouncing my ideas around, trying to isolate what my real question is. sometimes i bounce it off other folks, other times i will take just parts of it and research, even google my own question... dunno
but it works sometimes to help me articulate what it is i am really asking..

Yeah, like having a bloody good whinge about something and then it just pops into your head what's really going on and then solution starts formulating.

Yes. It's called Expressive Aphasia, and most people experience it at some time or another, some frequently, some just now and then.

Plenty of times. And no idea what helps.
Some I will never be able to formulate and just have to give up on them.
Sometimes I bang my head against the wall, but that just causes headaches and no new and clear insight
and messes up the wallpaper.
Very frustrating at times.
Like having a beautiful clear structured drawing of a cathedral in one's mind; knowing one should be able to reproduce it with ease and the best one comes up with is a three dimensional muck heap of moronic playdough laced with a yellow-green boogie of a sick two year old.
Breaking it down to its core elements is the only thing that sometimes works for. Asking thirty-nine questions instead of one.
