Maybe I'm missing something but when a guy asks me in his very first communication with me to: text him, call him, or send something to him at personal e-mail address, I don't do it. I'm polite when I explain that it is for my safety. They get very angry about it. This has happened more than once. Are these people just jerks or am I unreasonable to want to keep my private information private?

Scammers use various techniques depending on poeples responces.

You don’t have to give out any information you wish not to. What did you say your e-mail address is?
When you look at the email and see his email address and he asks you to give him yours, my advice is to block him first and then delete him. If you delete the mail first you won't be able to block him.
OpeningUp.....I haven't seen you before. Welcome to the real Amityville Horror house.
My simple rule of the thumb,If I don't know them and an email or chat scene is requested. DELETE !!cuts your inbox down so much. Don't even bother to reply.
If they get angry, they are just people that "swat with a hammer to kill a fly:"

I'm usually reasonably polite and friendly but see no need to be that way with scammers. I refuse to be controlled by the anger of someone who wants to take my money.

I think you're being too reasonable.
Block and delete, don't bother replying before you do.
They get angry because the income from scamming is important to them and they think they can beat you into submission with a bit of anger. They've picked up on politeness being important to you so behave as if you've been extremely offensive in order to get you to politely hand over all your savings at some point.

I don't even reply, and I get several a day. I sometimes do a check to see if they are fake but it is usually pretty obvious. I bet they react that way because they are scammers and are used to intimidating the women around them. I have found if I do reply that the women that ask for that instant email (who knows what they really are) can get agressive and pushy. It's all a con. My suggestion is to delete and block the ones that are like that, you can bet they have sent over a hundred identical mails to others. that's my advice.
Onlyguy, I am hardly afraid. I'm just tired of being harassed by creepy guys. After perusing your posts, I suggest you change your name to lonely_guy#1. LOL!
