I can verify that I know of one crèche where there was a secure room fitted out for unruly children, with cushion like covering on the floor and walls.
In other words a padded cell for disruptive toddlers, and parents still leave their kids there, unbelievable.

I was so shocked. I was reading all week about it so I thought I knew what was coming but I felt sick.
Screaming at babies who just want to play or a cuddle. Locking 18 month olds in a room alone because they were "bold". And the way that one woman threw babies around when she wanted them to sleep. She was so rough my heart went out to the poor kids. I hope the Garda brings charges.
Today I have gone from shock to anger!

I didn't see it and don't want to either. But from everything I've read about it during the week, and today it's certainly made me reconsidering returning to work anytime soon as well as putting my toddler into one before starting school next year.
She can develop the social skills "learned" in pre-school when she starts going to big school as far as i'm concerned. It's not worth the risk putting her in now. I know not all creches are like that but 75% of them are falling below the minimum childcare guidelines required and that's just too high a percentage for my liking.

Reconsider*
The women who were abusing kids like that as shown in last night's Prime Time programme deserve to be sterilized. They are not fir to have kids lot alone be responsible for the care of kids. That skanger in the Links creche swearing in front of the kids, unbelievable.

Yeh, its business for profit, first and last ....and if anyone thinks otherwise, theyre being very naive!
