i have to journey out to civilisation later where the internet is readily available, ill watch him then.
3 you say, yeah, 2 obvious ones (though i doubt they are 2 people, more like 1 person running 2 profiles, possibly through seperate ip adds) the third eludes, but ill keep an eye (how can i not) on these threads, scummy as they are seem to be the dish of the day.

When did the BRITISH obsession with social CLASSES infest the Irish nation?

Come on Stan your vocal enough with the nonsense. What has the fact that I am not from Foxrock (although I have lived right beside it in Carrickmines for 19 years) got to do with this thread and your obsession with getting one over on Sofar???

I think its a world wide construct used by theorists and those who use the theories to slot us into categories according to wealth/power. We associate it with England because we were geographically handy at the time and those that wielded their power on us were constructed high (high class) due to wealth, which enabled them to wield in the first place.

Oh, I understand that, I should have explained myself better.
I have seen on here several times people attempting to categories others, and even themselves, according to the British class system, and it just amazes me that anyone in Ireland would do so, because whether you are from Dublin 4 or Dingle, the Brits class the Irish as Paddies.

Thats a very noble stance on your Irishness. I have meagre experience of societies outside of Ireland but what I do know, together with knowing quite a few non Irish living here, is that Irish people are very conscious of "social standing" and all the snobbery that goes with it. It may have something to do with sudden accumulation of sudden wealth in recent decades and the "colonisation" resulting from various housing schemes through that time.
