Yes, it's one of those threads - SOZZY - a total disappointment for some probably: No photos of legs!

Instead though a question, as this kept me up last night when I should have gotten sleep

Why does the showing of leg gets immediate attention?

Brought on by a funny thing in a thread last night, I decided it was a good idea for a laugh to take a photo of the legs and to put that up as avatar. I am not totally oblivious, I know fishnets and high heels can get males hyped up so no way I'd have taken such a pic, but instead I chose white woolen stockings and pink leg warmers, something I thought really innocent!

But boy did my mailbox explode just seconds after... From 19 to 60 year olds - I had messages lighting up my mailbox like a Christmas tree! o.O

Why? Legs are for walking (or dancing). They are everywhere! People have legs, same as they have arms. Would the posting of arms have had the same effect on a mailbox? I somehow doubt it, but I can't understand why (honestly I can't).

So I have decided to present this as a question. I always try to understand things. I know I have problems/issues anyway as I do not activate to imagery like many seem to do If I do not already feel drawn to an individual due to other reasons, no image will trigger a response within me. You could show me pics of 'hunks' all day, and while I know what is classed as 'hot' and what not - I'd still just yawn. Doesn't do anything for me

But what is it about legs for those who can get triggered by imagery? Why not arms?!

Honest question, I am seriously buffled by this

Thank you mjp, this seems to tie in with what a friend said last night, when I spoke with her about this.

But arms lead sort of somewhere too? Is it only that specific treasure that matters? I mean considering that many activate very much also to what arms sort of lead to...

think we tried to refine ourselves over time but the Neanderthal Man still exists in us ,we want to copulate with females and carry on the cycle of life

Very true, old instincts are still ruling a lot of our lifes and interactions. Just could not quite grasp why a photo of legs in white stockings and leg warmers could have such an insane effect. Legs ARE everywhere, and women now wear mainly pants, so I would have thought males would somehow have hardend to it (and not pun intend, honestly ). I could understand see through tights and heels, also because they are not as common on the streets and more revealing, but overall legs are everywhere.

I thought maybe unintentioanlly I send out a message through that pic, that it was maybe taken as an invitation, but no clue, I really was buffled (and pic has been removed )

Yes pics emit information maybe not what you want us to interpret from a pic but alas pics can be very provocative to some members even if innocently posted

I noticed that although I am not complaining as one mailed me who I was actually thinking about getting to know better, as he seems a nice guy and possible friends material, so tis all good.

I was even thinking to get scientific about this, and take pics in various types of stockings, to see which get the most reaction but have decided I can not create a valid scientific environment for it, plus it seems unfair, as I don't wish to mislead or cause frustration

personally nice legs heels and stockings are very attractive to me anyways would rather see a nice pair of heels and stockings than nora batty in a pair of dunlops ,think its a lot to do with the popular media of todays society and the images they use to portray the female of the species

I hate heels
They are torture equipment!!!
Got one pair of boots though with some heel, and love those, but they aren't too high.
Plus I don't like being tall, I like my height as is

Now I am remebering Romacing The Stone, and the scene where he chops her heels off and she says something like 'what you think you are doing, they were expensive', and he answers 'now they are practical'
