Does it say anywhere how long it took the 600 year old Noah to build this 450 foot long boat?

When I was at school, my teachers said that the Bible has symbolic explanations, like fables. And it's a translation of a translation.

Nobody cares if once really there was a frog talking with an scorpion, as in the old fable.

God did use parables. like parable of the fig tree, the parable of the three maidens with there lamps. all had a meaning to them.

In all honesty, NOT in school...we said the pledge of allegiance, but that's all....I hear how some had prayer and such, that didn't occur in my school...must have stopped it before I started.

Yes, but it's the same than a fable. Perhaps there was a Great Flood and a family floating in a raft with a hen and a rooster.

I've seen these situations at TV.

sorry not perfect.

The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins

25 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

6 “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

No, I meant I've seen floods around the world in the news, and always there are people rescuing their family and animals.

If it was a parable, perhaps what happened wasn't so absurdly extraordinary.

There's been a lot of talk/speculations about how the world was coming to an end etc etc.Well this morning something came to mind that I remember which was said by an actor who appeared on an old talk said to the host of that particular show.

He said and I quote:"That we(meaning the United States) didn't have to worry about another country coming to the U.S.A to destroy us cause we are doing a very good job on our own".

After all the things that's been happening here in this country I can see that happening for real.Who knows someday it could be the end of the world.
