Ok we know that the nearest star is 4,5 light years away. That means we can never get there without reaching the speed of life. And even if we can build a ship traveling near that speed, still no chance surviving in the sheep that travels so fast. But i think theres another solution.

How about,if we cannot get to the stars ,let them come to us.grin

Here how we do.We get out of the solar system and wait.Since solar system along with all the stars moving around in the Milky Way Galaxy, then if we get out of our Solar System and stay there, our Solar System will go away from us and oher Stars will come towards us to pass. Then we can cach them.
Its like u get out of ur bus and get in to the next bus.u dont need to go anywhere.u just wait, they come to us.
Hope I could explain myself.

What do u think of this?Is that possible?
grin

Leo, on the surface your idea is sound but there are several practical problems with it.
The solar system is a lot bigger than you realize. It took the Voyager space craft 35 years to get from the orbit of the Earth to the outer edge of the solar system. How do you keep a person alive in a capsule for 35 years without running out of food not to mention waste disposal? Or keeping him/her warm in the cryoscopic temperatures of space? Even if you could overcome those hurdles (unlikely) how long would the person have to wait for a star to go by? Oh and the star would also have to have a planet the right size and distance from the star not to mention the star has to be the right type of star.
Sorry pal, it wont work.
Interplanetary space travel isn't quite as simple as hopping on a bus.

Just need a big slingshot as the earth travels at 64000 Kilometers an hour and youll be frozen in time in no time. Reaching the next star would be a breezethumbs up
