That's ok I'm prepared...oil lamps...kerosene heater...propane camping cooktop...only problem I'm on well water and without electric, no water...but I keep a lot of bottle water on hand wave

oh and most important, I have my camping coffee pot grin

SoonerGal: That's ok I'm prepared...oil lamps...kerosene heater...propane camping cooktop...only problem I'm on well water and without electric, no water...but I keep a lot of bottle water on hand

oh and most important, I have my camping coffee pot

they,have cave shelters here,for food,etc./private now,was for cold war times,tennis courts,etc.now,for VIPs/officials,brother worked there/security,and i seen soldiers,there.he said yup,for VIPs only excess,rest are turned away!paid for,by public funds,so pot belly pigs,can make it,thru nukes,etc.the rest cannon fodder.

I learned that when I watched a movie back in the '80's about an atomic war...I can not remember the name, but it was located in KC and Lawrence KS...can't even remember the main actors name, but he was a big wig back then

thought about that too, one that actually could run most of the house...it was going to be $11,000 12 yrs ago, I could only imagine what it would cost today...I'm scared to death of the smaller ones, a couple of years ago several people died from carbon monoxide, even though the took the precautions, they didn't figure in the wind direction...

this,site/called underground/marble co.just,north of town,filled w/ food n beer,etc.in case of visiting senator/VIPs,US REPs.,etc.can hide like fat cats.

solar panels,some can just about,run a small house.

Now these Honda generators are very reliable and long lasting, for a full house I would say you need somewhere a 4000-7000 watts generator just to be on the safe side,but if you have energy star appliances then you might be good with a smaller one too.
Make sure you have a good working carbon monoxide detector in your sleeping area.
