wash2u: Day with son-in-laws family. I am 1/2 way so someone else is driving.

Was hoping to do my usual drive to Sydeney to see my son but he will be with his in-laws (and mother)

Its sad that one day in a year families can't just get along.

LiLee: Hi Kristia

I'm catching up with my sons and their partners, and grandson on Christmas eve this year as it's their turn to visit the in laws on Chrissy day this year.

I may have my single son at home but he'll probably have other plans. My parents are 7 hours away and don't feel like driving all Christmas day.

I don't mind as long as I get to have my time with them.

Although I have never spent Christmas day along before. Might have to crash a friends lunch or just stay at home and watch Jesus movies on tele.

Hi lilee, hope you will be spending a nice time with family. Keep safe.

PrOwLeR_: I have spent the last three Christmas days alone, and I LuV the idea .. When I had the kids at home it was always full on, with them and my family coming over for dinner ...

There are people I could spend the day with though for me I'd rather spend the day alone and reflect the years passed and cherish memories of days past, along with those whom are no longer walking amongst the living ..Now New Years Eve, well this to me is ParTy time ....

Many years ago after my separation, if I was lucky enough, I spent about an hour with my children before they went to spend the day with my sister to enjoy Xmas family celebrations. These days I am lucky because my daughter does want me to be there with her.

We all have our differences. This is one time when many of us do put them aside. I have even opened the Xmas card from my sister after these many years instead of relegating it to the recycling bin.
