I found an old small picture' black and white picture of my grand mother. I took it to a place and had it blown up to 10x its size, its beautiful she was 9 years old, on an old chair holding a doll.
She has the most amazing hair! All curley, and all things around her. Has any one done that too? I gave it to her for a Christmas present framed.
She forgets things now and again.

You're so lucky to have those. I remember a photograph of my grandparents' wedding in their home. In a huge, gold, oval frame. I would have loved it when they died and sadly, don't know where it is now :(

i just got some official documents that my sister had of my father and his military career including certificates thanking him for his service signed by the queen - and old photographs of his life and friends the early 30s - it is a treasure. So I am going to a profession photo place soon to see if I can get them set and make a set for each of my siblings.

He was part of Canadian history - amazing.

Little history lesson - Canada was until 1982 a dominion - she paid tribute to the Queen of England - under the commonwealth.

you had the same set up with the same queen.grin

Canada is a constitutional monarchy, the head of state being the monarch, currently Queen Elizabeth II.
The monarch's representative in Canada is the Governor-General, who fills the role of approving bills, and other state functions.
For the most part, the monarch (through her representative, the Governor-General) is a figurehead, and what little real power she has is reserved for times of crisis.
The text of Canada's constitution can be found at this page.
It should be noted that the province of Quebec has refused to ratify the Constitution Act, 1982, which contained procedures for amending the Constitution.
The Governor-General is appointed by the Prime Minister, who is the leader of the political party that holds the most seats in the House of Commons.
The legislative branch of government consists of the Parliament, including the elected House of Commons and the appointed Senate.
Canada is a member of the United Nations, Commonwealth of Nations, La Francophonie, NATO, the G7, and APEC.

so you mean Queen Elizabeth II, or in Scotland Queen Elizabeth I, as they do not recognize QE I, as Mary was the Scottish Queen at the time...like the history lesson?

rolling on the floor laughing my family roots are from the Scottish borders - I understand a little bit about the history of folks that experienced a civil war for 400 years - and it was very much about recognition of who has the right to rule and ..... religion.

However, that said, Canada's rules are not UK's rules, or Irelands rules or in fact something coming in Scotland this year.
