Because it is in itself *virtual*. People can be very deceiving online hiding behind a screen and profile (which could be even fake)!
I am much more comfortable evaluating people from real life.

As I understand it, virtual reality can't 'make' anyone do anything, given people are autonomous and virtual reality is not. I suppose you could argue that creators of virtual reality may manipulate a change in users in some way.
People may use virtual reality as a stimulus, or medium for creating change within themselves. Whether that change equates to a betterment, or not is perhaps a matter of perspective.
