On Medical Graduation students, world wide, still swear on the "Hippocratic Oath",though the text varies from country to country.
Lannna23: Chris, with all respect to your culture, most of the medical terms, as well as biological terms, philosophy etc....come from Greek or Latin language. As oldest civilization, Greek are older than Roman (according to some anthropologists, and based on cave paintings Romans actually "stole" portion of Greek's art, philosophy, ...etc) it is normal than to have so many words used especially in medicine (Hippocrates is considered as a founding father of medicine), than Tales is considered as a father of philosophy; Aristotle was considered as the best educated Greek; Heraklit - history; than Archimedes - math; there are so many names.....
