Few of my friends are overweight, they literally hate black and they never do wear black clothes. I would say that wherever I have been, different countries, I've hardly ever seen any overweight people wearing black. I think skinny people tend to wear black more than the rest. JMO and humble observations...
bungallow55: don't know/only now my belly/getting up
I reckon to lose 20lbs healthily and sustainably without doing the starve-binge thing it would take about 6 months to a year. That's about 1/2 to 1/4lb per week through eating more healthily and having a naturally more active lifestyle.
Within that time it's not a bad idea to 'think thin', and by thin, I don't mean emaciated, I mean average, or 'normal' thin. Feeling good about yourself as well as being mindful of when your belly is comfortably full, rather than getting to the point of being uncomfortably full are useful psychological techniques to becoming healthier. If wearing clothes which help that process of 'thinking thin' and feeling more healthy and athletic, then maybe it shouldn't be dismissed.
Ccincy: Kristi Alley did the same exact commercial that Marie Osmond does.
I don't know who Kristi Alley is, so maybe she wasn't in my face in formative years like Marie Osmond.
I think Marie Osmond was one of the celebrities at the very forefront of the anorexic movement in the 70's on this side of the pond. I'm not blaming her, she was just a kid, but there was that ethos surrounding her at the time. She was publicly revered for being 96lbs in interview and publicly praised for it to her face. It was more important than her talent, or performance.

Kristy Alley was the one who stared in the movie Look who's Talking Now with John Travolta.Ya I also remember Marie Osmond when her brother Donny sang together on their show.

Men's bodies are designed differently from women's and the psychology surrounding weight has been different up until now. Things are changing for men though, as the fashion and dieting industries are targeting men differently.

I haven't seen that film, but thanks filling me in. I have a feeling a haven't missed much, though.

You ever see the commercials that Marie Osmond does about weight loss and she wears black,at times stands at a sideways angles in front of the camera?
Is this the Marie Osmond who was revered in the 70's for being about 96lbs?
There's something psychological and manipulative going on here, buuut I can't quite put my finger on it.
