They will find out a lot more information about each other through premarital counseling sections that ofttimes does not come out when dating... after the counseling sections, you may or may not care to be anymore than friends... Premarital counseling BEFORE they get serious in a relationship or engaged OR AFTER they have gotten engaged headed to the altar, OR NOT AT ALL?. Will such counseling help the relationship before getting married or in marraige?

Nah, sod that for a laugh. You can do it if it will make you happy, but I can't see it catching on.
How about the two people finding out for themselves by getting to know one another in the usual manner, or, just not rushing into anything?

You Have to attend a pre-marriage course here if you want to get married in a catholic church.
Luckily, the course focuses on more practical matters than before. Commitment, communication, conflict resolution, etc.
