Sunglasses wouldn't bother me too much, as long as they are in context.

I don;t see it so much in the threads but a lot of the private messages I get the men are wearing (often oversized) sunglasses???? weird.
I know you are talking about men but I have shades on in my pic. The reason being that I have been here ohh soooooo long and that those who know me know me, I felt it didn't really matter.
You do raise an important point though. To be fair, people should have clear faces on their pics.

well I was really thinking more of how it might come across in private messages. I also had one on here ages ago with sunglasses from a hiking trip I was on but it was not my main picture

that's what my concern is......because as the next poster says ..." the eyes have it," or they are married Lanna, or do not wish to be ID'ed.
There could be a legitimate reason for not wanting to be identified, but then where is the good judgement to choose online as ones dating venue...lol ????

this is perhaps leaning toward jaded, but I can't say I'd believe the answer. (that would depend upon the sender & those are generally deleted). that is why I am asking if anyone on the threads has an insight.
