jono7: i think it ( and we) are all energy, in constant change. all connected. there are no accidents.
where's it all going ? unlimited possibilities for 'this' life, i believe living an authentic life, with mindfulness and compassion are the keys for me.
interesting thread
Jono, you are not only enlightened, in the world of Zen, you've attained a certain level of undiminished progression. Let's look at it from common sense or the for the good of many. We're not on our own, we're all connected one way or the other, what makes you think that the water that touches the ground you step on isn't the same as the water where my feet stands on?
What makes you not think that the air that once was in your lungs wasn't the same as on mine?
In all technically if you go with Dr. WEISS' Scientific study, yes indeed. Our crucial position and decisions, determine our growth or reduction. It's imperative therefore to enable ourselves to understand and apply universal ethics and morally where it fosters for the good of many if not all. We're all born with good and bad traits. No exception.

I'm glad you've found conscience and definition from reading books. I, on the other hand found it from within.
It must be because you are Greek!
lifeisadream: All There are many books that have enlightened me (open my eyes)trough my whole life, some I even have read them more than once. Right now I am reading about
Freedom Mexico in the year 1554 Poverty of the nations Mexican Anthropology (magazine)
Do books choose you? You (saying) being a Greek I would ask you:
Have you read the Greek philosophers? If you have not you are going to the Inferno although I might meet you there too.
but for other reasons not for not reading the classic Greek Philosophers, which I did when I was a teenager and they did mark my life.
Do all people need to read books, magazines, articles, scientific papers, etc,....?

Don't take it personally.. I kinda like you ..but I'm sure a lady like you has learned more about yourself through travelling and life itself than any book you've read...

Reading, learning from life, traveling... are a complement to each other, rather than excluding one from another.
If you do not like to read no one will force you and perhaps you do not need it.
Some other people do need, like, want... to read and I am one of them.

You would be surprised how knowledgeable i am. I enjoy modern history rather than ancient and the Americas is of special interest to me including you beautiful country..
As for playboy, I never read it, I just look at the pictures. Lol
lifeisadream: Not at all yet it could be not 100 % accurate. Ignorance? Lack of information?
Education makes a good man better. Education makes a bad man worse.Looking forward to your threads!
There are so many angles upon which lay the foundation of our development, but when it all comes down to the root of who we are, it is a fact that we came unto this world without our choices. At least from the conception to our maturity. Considering that we all want to be a better person, is there a better way than through the channels of education?
All I am saying is we do have the obligation to attempt to improve ourselves. Learning with purpose to become better is the only way.
Then again sometimes even if we know down to the bottom that what we are doing are absolutely wrong in the face of society and humanity in general, still we do things that are outright injurious and harmful to others. Why? Beats the hell out of me.
Anyway, yes on both of the philosophical direction as to what education can do to us.
lifeisadream: First, helped me to define myself. Secondly, i found my conscience.Do I need to say more?
There is nothing more noble than being able to find your inner strength as well as who you are deep down the etch of physicality. In the realm of a very spiritual almost non physical level, it allows us to look at things from beyond. It empowers us to understand things that are not of this world. At least in my humble experience, I can say, there is a reason for everything. Yet it is our inherent choice to to lean on any direction that truly represent our ideals, out dreams, our hopes and our aspirations.
It makes us find who we truly are. And that is a complex journey for most specially those that only lives with what is in front of them.
Then maybe the saying that goes: IGNORANCE IS A BLISS, work for the most of us.
allthegoodnamest: Lindsy.. Temper temper..let's keep the insults to a minimum. Before you judge someone you must first know their situation.. Self importance is not an attractive quality in a person.. Where did i read that???(?
It is for the same reason that we do have passion in us. It is not because we always suffer the dysfunction of over confidence, rather it is our frustration that we refuse to see what is right from wrong.
But yes you can say that again. I don't blame you. Guilty as charged.
Ccincy: I picked up all my learning about the way things work is by learning in the world of hard knocks.
I also must not forget I also read Woman's World and Woman's Day magazines too. Actually as tru posted the threads resemble watching paint dry so to speak.
I am happy for you CC.
Learning it however the depth of difficulty we have to put ourselves into, it is the fruit of our labor that counts.
Thank you, in all honesty I am fine. I find that the closer we are to what we call end of our rope, the stronger we become to fight all the fears we have ourselves conditioned. I am pleased to meet you.
Ccincy: I think so linds.I've always loved to learn soak up things and I'm like a sponge so to speak.
I can feel you CC. From what I gather, you are one stalwart of expressing how you feel and what you feel. A little misunderstood at times and why not. You throw in the weight of what is and are and will be, and believe me, there arfe those that just agaped their mouth like they have never been confronted before.
Be strong as you always are, and learning is the best way to get to where we want to be CC. How else can we account wisdom if not our eagerness of sharpening and honing what is naturally given to us. We are born with talent, yet it is our choice to either die with them unused or use them here while we can. For the good of all, I hope.
If we all think within this line, I am sure all in this world is settled for the benefit of mankind.
