I suppose you get what you pay for. I always find the eastern Europeans are quite reasonable and can be very obliging.

OgGoDeo: We all know the feeling...the bank statement arrives and we have a look down through it....when we went on that shopping trip last weekend we had spent a lot more than we thought! anyway, i am a firm believer that the modern way of paying for goods with 'cards' instead of having to hand over actual hard cash causes us to spend much more than we realise.......any thoughts on this subject?....

I mainly use cash, except if I haven't got enough on me and I had already over-spent. That is on a very odd occasion.

I think if one has a financially disciplined mind, that it doesn't matter if one uses a credit card, debit card or whatever. I married someone very financially compatible and we are happy. Marry someone financially incompatible and it is hell on earth. I suppose finances is just one of the many things to be taken into account when seeking a partner.

Emotions and the infatuation of first dates can really suck people in, just like the false sense of financial freedom easy credit offers.

We need a degree of discipline in all aspects of our lives, and we need compatible partners in as many aspects of our lives as we can. The more aspects where partners are compatible, the less conflict, the greater contentment, and the greater happiness as each support the other in common goals, lifestyles and frequencies.

I really do not understand how people can spend more than they thought. Does one just hand the card over and say "charge what you like for this (whatever)"? People have to see the price, and know how much they have to spend......

It really isn't rocket science, it is just kerbing lust and desire and waiting for when one has the money to purchase what they want.

Really, what is the problem that so many can't do this?

If someone can not balance a card,
how can that person balance his/her life?
