Me three, KB. I like your thinking, whatever we do, we can't control others. It does unfurl as the dynamics of the talk is reflected by so many variables of which define our individual heritage, culture and even social practices and more so on our ways of life as ingrained to us by our religious beliefs and tendencies.
But like I started, in the Post...We do need to find in our hearts how to be respectful and mindful of others. Golden Rule..comes to mind.

Yes. But I have found that I have oftentimes misinterpreted or misunderstood some people's comments due to language, my state of mind at the moment, and simply not yet knowing them well enough. With time, and as I interacted with them more, I grew to understand that they weren't trying to be contrary or argumentative....it was only my perception at the time, before getting to know them.

It maybe so but let's face it even within our family circles and nation sans difference in cultures or ways of life, disagreement occur. Not to be negative but that's who we are. We're never always going to see things the same, but that's what make our dynamics charged with different reflections. All I'm saying is we agree to disagree, just be civil.
But like you said, get away from the argument and perhaps the moment we distance ourselves set our emotions to calm down. And I love our emotions. I won't desire to be like Spock. Lol
