stanley8m: There is nobody living on the streets where I live, the only ones I see homeless are people with addiction and mental problems and they live and are part of life in the cities.

The EU is paying 6000 per refugee per year so that halves the cost.

Besides that, after they are processed the refugees will be allowed to work and pay taxes, therefore the State will benefit not only financially, but also from a new influx of skills.

Plus, some of those little Syrian babes are hot.

The working homeless are not on the street
They're living in bed and breakfast or hostels
I know a guy in work him his wife and 5 kids
Are living in one room, that's not a home, there
Are many homeless like that

As for your six thousand per refugee not even
The most stupid idiot would believe that figure
It barely merits comment

Being the humanist is the correct thing to do under
The right conditions, but we need to be able to
Look after our own first

And does anyone honestly believe this government
Has the ability to get the vetting of these people
Right, they can't get the basics right we don't know
What we,re letting in

Irish families are getting smaller, we are shrinking
As a race, globalisation and the free movement
Of the labour market as a means of cheap labour
For the employers is going to be the cause of smaller
Families yet again

We, ve always been the worlds best for helping
Out people, time to look out for ourselves!

There's little or no tax paid on minimum wage and
On minimum wage they're not exactly going to
Be the big spenders that'll help the the country boom
Again, it's just another way of nudging the Irish
Worker out of the way for a migrant to step in and
Transfer the country's wealth abroad through the
Western union

Over immigration is like putting a tube into a
Patient and draining there blood

They'll die

If we have hardworking well qualified Irish workers
Sitting at home depressed in a recession because
They can't get employment and migrant workers
Are getting the same jobs they seek that's over
Immigration

Simple as that

you live in the arsehole of kildare not in a big town or city..there is a homeless crisis in dublin reaching epidemic proportions yet the governments answer is let them stay in Hotels..the money being spent looking after syrians who are aliens to this country may I add should be spent on Irish citizens who have fallen on hard times and lost their homes through no fault of their own agyer all isn't that why they paid their taxes for years now they find themselves homeless..you have to look after your own first before you can look after refugees..the brainless politically correct brigade live in a fantasy..time to wake upireland

They can't afford anything thats why this wonderful government put them up in a b&b in 1 room..I doubt refugees from syria would be treated like this sad flower

stanley8m: The problem was that the wage expectations of semi skilled and unskilled workers was over inflated during the boom.

Wage reduction has meant we are beginning to get competitive again and that is good for the economy.

What a load of pure bollix!

Is minimum wage, 340 acceptable a week when
It costs 1200 for a 3 bedroom house? That leaves
A person nothing

Over inflated expectations asking for more that that
Is that it??

The amount of skilled workers on this wage is
A disgrace

You're a traitor, a no good traitor for even attempting
To justify this and one day the many traitors
We have here will get what's coming to them

I wonder what it is in the Irish psyche that causes so many Irish people to use the word 'traitor' about anyone who disagrees with them!
