With the great 'Syrian' ( I realize they aren't all Syrian) refugee exodus, I can't help wondering why the Gulf countries aren't helping out, or why no one is seeking refuge in that part of the world?

I think its abit like catholics and protestants but ten times worse .

Because it's a fraud, that's why. The refugees are not stopping at safety and they're aiming for luxury, they're trying to move up several social classes whilst on the run, which isn't actually being a refugee.
The Arab world should be doing a Dunkirk-style tactical withdrawal like the Iranians are doing. Allowing refugees to retreat to re-arm and re-group and then sending them back into the fray.
i do not know English but only that you are very good thinking for the human life...All the rich countries are busy in collecting money and money ...they do not think about the poor countris but they using their weapons for one to another???Thanks
My Syrian friend tells me that despite Syria keeping it's borders open to all refugees from previous conflicts in other Arab countries, the other Arab countries have closed their borders to them in their time of need.
Bearing in mind we have a bit of a language barrier, when I asked him why, he said it was because the presidents of these countries are stupid.
I know he believes self-defence. I know he doesn't understand why the Arab countries don't unite peacefully together. I know he is anguished by the propaganda in the media about Muslim people and the enormous number of innocent Muslims who have been killed by the US military.
I've got friends in Syria too. mostly western educated professionals. None want to leave Syria despite what's going on. They are prepared to wait and rebuild.
One went to Egypt for a while and couldn't find a job that paid deservingly despite being an engineer and said they were treated poorly there. So he cut his losses and went back.
True Syria had its doors open to all and it's a shame they aren't being treated better.
Another issue is that with Arab countries no matter how many generations are born in the country, you will always be a Syrian, Palestinian etc.
Refugees come mainly from ,Repressive,Oppresasive,Authoritorian, in short undemoctatic regimes. Seeking refuge,in an undemocratic country, like the one, they refugees, coming from,it is madness.- They try to escape from an undemocratic country, not to go back, similar to the one, trying to escape from.!!!
