and was wondering why Greece didn't do anything about it. Thanks for explaining Chris.
It is completely understandable why Turks downed the Russian plane - they do not want the cheap oil source to be destroyed for them. I read that Erdogan's son has a company that buys the oil and makes huge benefits. If they were serious about fighting ISIS they wouldn't let them in and out of the country.
The head of Turkish Intelligence (MIT) has stated:
“ISIS is a reality and we have to accept that we cannot eradicate a well-organized and popular establishment such as the Islamic State; therefore I urge my western colleagues to revise their mindset about Islamic political currents, put aside their cynical mentalité and thwart Vladimir Putin's plans to crush Syrian Islamist revolutionaries,”
Turkey is not a friend of the West..
The question is... why is President Obongobongo providing cover and support for Erdogan. next to that other great and good ally -- Saudi Arabia -- Turkey is a key supporter of ISIL.
They are complicit in the trucking and transfer of oil into the market. without that financial support of hundreds of millions of dollars, ISIL could have been seriously hampered from expanding its influence.
Isn't it curious that the u.s. watched and allowed those hundreds of millions to be collected until Russia finally forced its hand by bombing them. then, the U.S. meekly ran its own bombing campaign.
I don't buy for a second that concern of killing civilians was what prevented the U.S. from acting. Since whenever has the U.S. been concerned about innocent civilian deaths in that part of the world.
Remember the terrorists operating in Syria have been initially covertly equipped with Advanced American TOW anti-tank missiles by the CIA and since then America has been using Turkey and Saudi as conduits through which to re-supply what they call the "Moderate" terrorist groups. Strange groups allied with ISIL also seem to have these American weapons
Dedovix: Turkish, Saudi, French, British and US-backed terrorists have been operating in Syria for the past 4 years in an effort to overthrow the Syrian government. This cabal wants to remove Assad in order to a) pave the way for Qatari gas to supplant Russian gas to Europe, b) possibly open up a front for a jihadi invasion to destabilize and pressure Iran and Russia, and c) secure Turkish territorial integrity and its long-term role as a buffer zone for Western powers to play in the Middle East sandbox with impunity.

chris27292729: You better read the book ""Strategic Depth"", by Ahmet Davutoglu, present PM of Turkey. In it claims, all the ethnic Turks, with countries having common borders with Turkey, should be annexed and be part of Turkey. In the same book claims, even parts of countries, without ethnic Turkish minorities,if they serve Turkish strategic interests, should those parts be annexed. What happened with the downning of the Russian jet,its exactly what Davutoglu dogma is saying.-We protecting our own ethnic Turks not only inside Turkey, but as well our brothers living in neighboring countries, especially the one's next to our borders, in this case Syrian Turkmen.- It looks like revival of the Ottoman Empire.
That would fit what I'm saying, yes. Someone has to be the big Muslim in the region and if it goes the way of Putin and Assad then that big Muslim will be Iran.

Lines are starting to harden up , currently too many sides for a war . Looks like western nations are backing both sides , hopefully our dear leaders pick the correct one that puts the current brand of islam on it bum . Even bigger hope it's the winning one .

galrads: We here in the USA need to stay out of other people's religious stuff and not engage in others' wars. No more killing and butchering our youth for other people's interests when they can settle their own grown-up differences and challenges.
DIY people and send us your money so we can pay off our national debt spent wrongly on policing the world and protecting others.

Erdogan seeks to ferment the crisis whilst making an appearance of neutrality on the Sunni-Shia schism within Islam. Turkey wants to be the conquering peace-maker which deliberately sows chaos to justify itself.
chris27292729: How much, costs the minimum donation????
Some are dreaming for a world exemplary ,, but it's only a dream,, even policticians can't go against the powerful lobby of world's powerfull finance mechanism ,,

They (the leaders) should grow a pair as soon as possible, as they are jeopardising the lives of hundreds of millions of people out of pure greed. The hypocrisy and double faced attitude won't be able to remain tolerated for much longer...

Thats very true.
In the other hand, an exemplary smart politician would go down in History going against the current tides. Powerful lobbies, poewrful financers, etc, etc, etc.

What if Syria will become similar to Ukraine,, part of Syria is for Assad,, and the rest for the other faction,,,it seems this the immediate solution to solve the conflict ,, as Russia will never abandon completely Assad.

galrads: I understand why Russia doesn't want the competition but why doesn't Syria just do it and be richer and happier and friendlier with Western Europe?
Ccincy: Chris it may take the US politicians another 60 years or more to realize not to meddle in other countries affairs.
It reminds of being in competition.
And where are they, US demonstrating citizens against wars in far away countries??? In the past, US mass demonstration againsts Vietnam War. The example is there.- All it needs is!!! A repetition

Russia will do whatever is best for Russia, and if that includes to get rid of Assad,Vlad won't shed a Tear about him!

Politicians are at the mercy of the monetary circle that support their respective parties,,, if there's not much money , there will be lesser politicians, majority of their decision are in favor of financial dictatorship,,,
