Conrad73: http://dailycaller.com/2015/11/24/turkey-violated-greek-airspace-2244-times-last-year-fires-at-russia-for-doing-it-once/Turkey shot down a Russian warplane for violating its airspace Tuesday, but the Turkish air force does the exact same thing several times a day in Greece.
Turkey was quick to defend its action by stating it issued 10 warnings over the course of five minutes before firing on the plane.
“The data we have is very clear. There were two planes approaching our border, we warned them as they were getting too close,” a senior Turkish official told Reuters. “Our findings show clearly that Turkish air space was violated multiple times. And they violated it knowingly.”
But the Turkish air force doesn’t seem to be too careful about entering Greek airspace, according to numbers from the University of Thessaly. A tally shows the Turks committed a total of 2,244 violations in 2014, up from 636 in 2013.
Turkey, disputes the Greek international Air and Sea boundaries. Which according to Greece are drawn,in accordance with the rules and norms set,by International Laws, on boundaries. Thats why the violations on the sea and in the air space of Greece. Greece has challenged Turkey, that both countries to go to the Internationl Court of Justice, and let the court decide, on the Turkish claims. Who doesn't want the ruling of the International Court of Justice??? Our Nato ally Turkey.-

and was wondering why Greece didn't do anything about it. Thanks for explaining Chris.
It is completely understandable why Turks downed the Russian plane - they do not want the cheap oil source to be destroyed for them. I read that Erdogan's son has a company that buys the oil and makes huge benefits. If they were serious about fighting ISIS they wouldn't let them in and out of the country.
TheRedSquirrel87: What's happening in Syria can essentially go in either Turkey or Iran's favour, but not both. Guess which side Putin prefers?
You better read the book ""Strategic Depth"", by Ahmet Davutoglu, present PM of Turkey. In it claims, all the ethnic Turks, with countries having common borders with Turkey, should be annexed and be part of Turkey. In the same book claims, even parts of countries, without ethnic Turkish minorities,if they serve Turkish strategic interests, should those parts be annexed. What happened with the downning of the Russian jet,its exactly what Davutoglu dogma is saying.-We protecting our own ethnic Turks not only inside Turkey, but as well our brothers living in neighboring countries, especially the one's next to our borders, in this case Syrian Turkmen.- It looks like revival of the Ottoman Empire.
The Russian ambassador in Turkey, was forwarned over the weekend, that Russia has to stop bombarding Turkmen in the Syrian side of the border. Just because the Turkmen sided against Assad, whom Turkey would liked to see him toppled from power.-

Oil is the one factor, the other factor is Turkey's dogma. Support our fighting brothers, the Turkmen in the other side of our borders with Syria. Well known. Syrian Turkmen and Turkey, oppose Syrian President Assand government.- Turkey asked Russia, over the weekend,to stop borbarding the Syrian Turkmen area. So the shooting down of the Russian jet, wasn't an accident, it was deliberate.

Turkish, Saudi, French, British and US-backed terrorists have been operating in Syria for the past 4 years in an effort to overthrow the Syrian government. This cabal wants to remove Assad in order to a) pave the way for Qatari gas to supplant Russian gas to Europe, b) possibly open up a front for a jihadi invasion to destabilize and pressure Iran and Russia, and c) secure Turkish territorial integrity and its long-term role as a buffer zone for Western powers to play in the Middle East sandbox with impunity.

fatjatt: I do not understand USA and Turkey's stand in isis...... they did so bad ....
What you don't understand??? Turkey is governed by a religious party, promoting Turkey's islamization. Isis is promoting Islamization. Turkey is USA ally ,as well a buffer zone to Russia, so USA cannot impose its will on Turkey,on its Islamization policies.- Simple really.USA can only suggest to Turkey.- Go easy on Islamization,Turkey say to USA,go to hell, don't tell us what to do.

And what USA say at this moment,,, no longer have credibility ,, political positions would surely be not the same after they have elected their new president ,,, USA don't have concrete things to propose,,, as what we observe in this issue ,,,
Who said leopard don't change its spots? Quick bit of research:
Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) went through five incarnations. All previous Islamist parties in Turkey had been shut down by either military intervention or rulings by the constitutional court: The National Order Party, founded in 1970, was banned by the Constitutional Court in 1971. The National Salvation Party, founded in 1972, was outlawed after the 1980 military coup. The Welfare Party, founded in 1983, was banned by the Constitutional Court in 1998. The Virtue Party, founded in 1997, was banned in 2001.
“No Islamic party has been as moderate and pro-Western as the AKP, which catapulted into government in 2002 promising to lead Turkey into the European Union.”
Erdogan, who founded the party, actually rejects defining the AKP in religious terms. “We are not an Islamic party, and we also refuse labels such as Muslim-democrat,” he said in 2005. The AKP leader instead calls the party’s agenda “conservative democracy.”

I understand why Russia doesn't want the competition but why doesn't Syria just do it and be richer and happier and friendlier with Western Europe?

We here in the USA need to stay out of other people's religious stuff and not engage in others' wars. No more killing and butchering our youth for other people's interests when they can settle their own grown-up differences and challenges.
DIY people and send us your money so we can pay off our national debt spent wrongly on policing the world and protecting others.

DIY ,, it should be the case since the start,, if only everyone stays at home and make the best out of what they have,, then we are on the right path ,,, but everyone of us knows,, it's not us who decide ,,we are just a pawn that they push and pull to what direction they want we go,,, fight agaist each other until we go crazy,, stable minds resists ,,, others die of fear in the process and others are blasted out !!!

Cc,, Right thing, don't mix with politics/finance,, it's vast/ uncontrolable world of interest !!! I think there are some who think on the right way,,, but we are for nothing but spectators in doing what we can which is most of the time don't count and don't have influence.
