It will always be here. And if ever you do go to Portugal after landing in Lisbon go out and enjoy the wonderful entertainment. And visit "Fatima", I found it very peaceful and uplifting experience.

You are welcome here anytime you wish, it is still a beautiful country although you need be careful with some of the people. We need more tourists and people buying land to build houses, but you can rent a place for 200 euros a month and enjoy the sunshine and golf.

You cannot take up employment while on a tourist visa. I'm not sure how many employers will be willing to wait on you to go back home and start visa procedures for you. Besides, looking for employment locally might get you a local contract; that means no housing, no flights. You'll have a super hard time finding a place to rent. They do not rent flats to single women. And the rent has to be paid a year in advance. Why don't you try employment agencies like bayt?
