sergio09: Just an opinion here. I refuse to argue with people, esp. the ones that I am in a relationship with. I try not to raise my voice...I just shut down. I HATE arguing. We may not talk for days, I am fine with that.
This is not to say...I haven't failed at this occasionally. One relationship I was in, every time we disagreed on something her voice continued to get louder and louder. Every other word was "F" this and "F" that. So, I would just go to a different part of the house or out to rearrange things in the shed.
Bottom line...why argue and raise voices?

1. give reasons or cite evidence in support of an idea, action, or theory, typically with the aim of persuading others to share one's view.
2. exchange or express diverging or opposite views, typically in a heated or angry way. I would prefer to go with the first option.
I do not see problem arguing but not need to raise voices (in a relationship or not) yet there has to be point where either agree or agree to disagree and move on, not sense to waste anyone's time.

An argument as in a discussion is my preference but some folks don't have enough self control so they yell, insult, swear, throw stuff around or at you....basically a temper tantrum and a need to "win". I was married to that and never, ever again.

On my side it was the other extreme, the Father of my children would ever argue (with no one) rather boring at times.
