The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) is a law that allows the government to eavesdrop on Americans for national security purposes.
To do that, the government must persuade a judge on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court that it has evidence to think that the person is working as an agent of a foreign power, is working on behalf of a government that conducts intelligence gathering in the United States, or is engaged in international terrorism.
According to the memo, the government began eavesdropping on Page in October 2016, and extended the surveillance three times. One of the requests was approved by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, a Trump appointee; another was approved by Dana Boente, who FBI Director Chris Wray recently selected as his chief lawyer.

No offense meant, Lindsey, but your title is a MISplaced "hope"! "Justice" is RARELY served! And MOST RARELY in politics!
WHY? Because politicians have NO interest in/incentive to seeing to it's being "served"! IF they were to see to it's being "served" to/on one politician, then they would advance the possibility of it being served to/on THEM! So it's only in the MOST EGREGIOUS cases that a politician will have any interest in pursuing "justice". And only THEN, because (for the reason(s) of self preservation) he CAN'T be seen to OPPOSE it!
So I (IF I were you) wouldn't EXPECT too much to happen, after this "revelation"! THIS is just ANOTHER example of what OUR "system" of politics has devolved into. The fact that it was disclosed, at all, is just ANOTHER example of the "politics" by which our political system operates! Do you think it would have been released, if Hillary was president?
NOT to discourage you! But I think your ENTHUSIASM is misplaced/misdirected! You will be BETTER served, if you use this as evidence for an/one argument for CHANGING the present political "system"! Than in HOPING that some "justice" will be "done".

No. I still expect that even if it wouldn't happen, I do have the right to demand that it should be and must be. What for that our forefathers have designed a system if only to be trampled upon by these bozos.
Anyways, my hopes are burning high and I stand firm to what I believe in and my expectations won't diminish a bit.
I might get disappointed but just the same my passion for the truth and justice remain the same.
