We more time in a career or playing games and having fun than we ever did before, neither is intimate. Between the pleasure principle and the profit motive there's not a lot of room for real love.

That's the zeitgeist and everybody behaves more this way than they would if they were born in another time and place. We live in times of self-importance

On an individual level fear of intimacy could be a lot of things. When a woman complains that a man isn't intimate it's often the case that he can be intimate but he just doesn't want to be with her - which is why she wants him, her lustful ego wants what it can't have because she can't have it and if she were to somehow get this then it makes her better than other women. There's a needy and self-promotional love - more common in women - which is not love at all and often leads to players and bad boys feeling quite lonely.

If you really loved me you'd let me go, you wouldn't cling harder to me and want me more just because I'm going. Lovers understand this, egotists do not.

Basically this when a woman would rather you be unhappy so long as she gets you to stay. It's a spiteful intimacy which only wants the worst for your loved ones.

"I deserve better than you" ... That's what many believe...
"But thanks for loving me, anyway..."

daears: really
Yes! In my opinion, if you really love someone you will let them go...
Love is about a couple being in love with each other, not one sided!!
Why would you try to stop them going when they no longer love you...
Hassling and begging may cause a temporary guilt return but it won’t bring back love..
Everyone deserves pure reciprocal love and should not settle for anything less!!

in the story of the happenings at that partucular time I didn't read it that way. Time and the way words are written can easily be miss red. Your thoughts are known in my world. But at the time off another's comment. It read diff to me. Creepy was my thought at the comment moment. cool

But sometimes people settle for less out of comfort and pretend...for as long as the other one is forced to give up on loving them...
It's better that way because they won't feel guilty initiating the breakup...but will also have the "right" to point a finger, you see you are clinging on someone who doesn't love you...
