KarloradoFL: I remember when Gustavo Dudamel directed the Vienna Philharmonic in it's New Years Concert in 2017. Which is a great honor because it only happens once a year and is televised throughout the world. I get to see it on one of my Public Broadcasting System channels.
Just read the comments... He is the ESSENCE of being Venezuelan... That special vibe, that warmness... It can't be explained... Another Venezuelan pride... Another wonderful son of this blessed land... heart beating

Karlo... Thank you sooo much, for sharing that video... It melted my heart and brought tears to my eyes... The way he has fun with the orchestra and with the audience is absolutely magical... I haven't watched a single video of him rehearsing, where the players are not smiling wide or laughing... And he is the same, everywhere... I would love to attend one of his performances... I would sooo give him a bear hug... And pull those curls... Jajajajajajajajaajajajajajja... laugh laugh laugh I love you, Venezuela... heart beating

galrads: Cabrera donates $250K to aid Detroit children

Miguel Cabrera is ready to go whenever baseball resumes. He has been working out at his home in Miami, so his preparation doesn't worry him."When they give me a call, I'll be ready," he said.

What worries him and his wife, Rosangel, is the situation in Detroit as the coronavirus pandemic impacts all facets of life, especially children. So before Miggy steps up to the plate again in a game, the Cabreras are stepping up to donate $250,000 to benefit several key Detroit organizations that serve children.

The donation arose out of a discussion the Cabreras had on what they could do and how best to help, as former teammate Justin Verlander and his wife, Kate Upton, teamed with Bella+Canvas last month to send 25,000 protective masks to the Detroit Police Department.

"We always feel like Detroit is a part of our family," Cabrera said. "When a city has done so much for me and my family, when we have a chance to give back to the community, especially during this hard event, we try to do that. It's not just about playing baseball and making money. It's about being part of the community."

Miguel and Rosangel have played an active role in supporting youth causes over the past several years, helping renovate baseball fields in Detroit while providing assistance to the Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL), and establishing a permanent college scholarship endowment for students in southeast Michigan. With the pandemic creating a wide-ranging crisis in the city, the Cabreras broadened their charitable reach, and partnered with the Detroit Tigers Foundation, an affiliate of Ilitch Charities, to identify the greatest needs in Detroit.

yes, I believe that my maternal grandmother is from Atana Lucana a province of Salerno in the Compania region.

Interesting. My paternal grandfather is from Giulianova, my paternal grandmother is from Isnello (Palermo), my maternal grandmother is from Atana Lucana/Salerno, and I believe my maternal grandfather is from Abruzzo Molise region.
Another Venezuelan pride... heart beating

I don't know if you ever watched it... But Dudamel conducted the Simón Bolívar Orchestra and they traveled worldwide... And they wore Venezuelan flag jackets and when they finished, they threw them to the audience... They received a standing ovation in London, I think... For over NINE minutes... heart beating

Yes are doing that, crippling American sanctions on Venezuela, in its attempt to control the worlds second largest oil field, also sanctions on Russian, Chinese backed Iran and Venezuela, and the recent foiled invasion now has USA given warning they better notice!!
Serious stuff mate wave
The first of five Iranian tankers carrying fuel to Venezuela has entered the nation’s exclusive economic zone, tracking data shows. Earlier, Tehran threatened the US with retaliation for interfering with the vessels’ passage.
The vessels are expected to deliver a total of about 1.5 million barrels of oil to Caracas. Despite boasting the world’s largest proven oil reserves, the country has been struggling to cover its domestic supply needs, with its energy industry ravaged by crippling US sanctions.
