Osama bin Laden’s plan for destroying America: make Joe Biden President (4)

But Al Qaeda’s successes had at best a limited amount to do with him, as opposed to the more experienced and pragmatic terrorist leaders. And by this point, he had long since become irrelevant, harbored by Pakistan, too dangerous to keep, too dangerous to get rid of, until Obama decided that he could get reelected by arresting Osama and putting him on trial. The men on the ground had other ideas and the rest is history.
But Osama had his own stupid plan for bringing America to its knees. Kill Obama.

Sure having Biden take over would wreck the country, but a lot less so than Obama had. Unless Osama had a plan to get Carter back into office, that probably wasn’t happening.
Intelligence officials told the Post that bin Laden’s plan never progressed past the aspirational stage.
True of all his plans at that date, except his plan to listen to bad music and get shot by the infidels.

Let's never forget OBL was hired by the CIA to create aggro for the Russians, he was trained, supplied and funded by the US. Then he 'fell out favour' because Gorbachev was blind to the real motives of the US when the former USSR fell ... he pretty much gave them free access to Russias oil, gas mineral wealth ... even allowed them to re-write the Russian Constitution ( the revisions to which are under vote in Russia soon )
I guess he was none too pleased about being abandoned and so he turned his energy against his former employers?
Let's also not forget that whole bunch of the Bin Laden (incl his parents and sisters) were very close to Bush ... GW had them all out his ranch on 9/11 and you may recall theirs was the only flight out of the US on that fateful day - all else was grounded.
So, maybe ole OBL was not really acting against the US but in cahoots with them?
Otherwise, he must have really been at odds with his family for them to have been doing business and social with GW ...
