He’s 6 weeks ( July 20 is as close to it as the breeder could remember). I’m letting him get used to just my bedroom for now; as petsmart says...he’s sort of cinnamon tabby, if that’s a type. Hope I didn’t dive in too deep, here.

6 weeks is early to be taken away from Mum but I'm sure he'll get all the love he needs in your tender care.In fact I think I can hear him purring.

6 weeks is the right time for a new kitten to go to a new parent. I had a six week kitten given to me which had not been socialized very much because the man who owned the mother had kept his cat and her kittens in his garage and he worked a lot so didn’t have much time to handle all the kittens to socialize them. Well he gave me one and at first the kitten was a bit feisty with claws but I persevered and then that little cat grew to love me and followed me everywhere. I had that cat 23 years.

Thanks for your well-wishes. I knew it was a little early, but the situation wasn’t good for him. (I had visited several times and spent a good deal of time each visit, so he “knew” me and had seemed very comfortable in my arms/lap). Current: since I wrote this, he has readily eaten science diet kibble for kittens, had water, and readily used litter box. We’ve had a long nap, and he settled right in between my chest and chin. He’s not afraid of the carrier at all—and I’m fixing it to be a dual-purpose bed/kitten cave, as well. I’m taking it easy, though, letting him call the shots. I know I have work in front of me, and it sounds a little goofy, but I’m a little anxious...btw, I’ve made a vet appointment for next week. When I told them his age, they said they thought that was just fine—“ we see early adoptions all the time” the vet said. Holding out a day or two on the name, but fairly sure of one...much love to all. I’m a happy camper-just have the new responsibility jitters, that’s all.
