One2note: The person who was jumping for joy after the brexit vote , claiming that Britain has claimed its sovereignty back . Not looking so good now , when you wanna go abroad , is it !!
Saw on T.V the other day that Tui have been swamped with golden oldies booking hols in the sun. Bet they haven't looked at the small print.

Booking any holiday is a risk now . But leaving this dump of a country is worth the risk .
lillipution: I have a pal with a bungalow in the hills above Paphos Bay. Staying put though as I'm not good at flying or too much sun.[/quote
If you could get over the flying part, once you get there , you could choose when to go out in the sun,
It's only about four and a half hours, I an toying with the idea of going there on a short holiday and disapearing into the mountains where I have friends
tomcatty: Did you go across the border to the Turkish sector? yes you have to have airconditioing but you can't on the beach Go sunbathing in the cooler hours.
Went to Famagusta, there was a place that was just as it was since the Turkish invasion,
bullet holes in the walls, old cars near peoples houses , very sad to see! Have you been there?
Tiger_Moth: Bucket lists are not just related to projects you hope to do before you depart from life, they can be goals that you aim for as a young person to better yourself .
What do you feel is important enough to achieve in your lifetime, and is it achievable.?
Mine was to go to Drama School but it has passed me by so I've just settled for other people's drama.
I'd like to attend one of the Vienna balls.
It's achievable, but I need a proper partner. One day...
You can go there whenever you want - there's no age limit.
One2note: Famagousta has been closed since 1974 . It’s impossible to go there .
You cannot cross directly into Famagusta from the southern part of Cyprus. Instead, you must cross the Green Line into the north (known as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus). ... Another option is to cross the border in Nicosia and then take a bus to Famagusta. They are operated by Itimat and leave every half hour.
One2note: Born in Chelsea by Cypriot parents . Was planning to return to Cyprus but after the Turkish invasion , we lost everything. Long story !
Sorry to here that . From what I gather there is still a lot on tension due to the divide which may or may not have been the result of British occupancy in the 50's or I think that's what I read.
Still an ongoing issue apparently with the E.U. seemingly ignoring the problems.
