Agreed, tis not a word that should be tossed around like a ball as much as it is,the action of or the act of is the farthest from a game.........However could it be that those who often mis-use the word,or just throw it around have no true idea of its meaning?

The reason the word love is so abused in the English language is because we only have one word for love and we apply it to all things. Where as other languages has much as 30 words for love and they all have specific meaning such as the love of an orange, the love for a friend and the Romanic love for a women all have different words and hence when they use the word love it applies to and is understood to be what it is…….professor

Bottom line is that our culture needs to understand the complexity and the different levels of the word LOVE

Ron is correct. I love my brothers and sisters, I love my close friends. Niether of which I would seek a romantic relationship with. I do not wish anyone harm and have a all around love for my brother or fellow man.

The word love needs to be used more in the world in all actuality. Not enough people feel love or show love for their fellow man. At the rate that society is going, soon it will be taboo and not said at all.

I wish we did have different words for love like in other countries. There would be a lot less confussion I believe.

I don't think you can put children and your mate in the same catagory where love is the topic.

sometimes we fall out of love with our mates.

How do you fall out of love from sommething you and your mate created?

I agree. Two different meanings of the word "Love". Now when you state you are "in love" with someone, I find that to be the romantic "love".
