Nah! I was just trying to show how people could actually be "conned" I know that I and many others are well up on this, but there are many people out there that are "novices" very vulnerable people, new to life on the Internet. Look at how many Scams that are going on on FB, the selling pages. Many people are just naive

Hi Ali…try not to worry about it. Your post couldn’t have come at a more timely manner. There’s a bartender at my favorite pub (so this is a little different because it’s actual brick and mortar living…) who has taken it upon herself to “upbraid” me a couple of times regarding talking to other patrons in the bar. (She thinks I’m too gregarious, too inquisitive, etc…) She’s quite curt about it. I don’t see it that way. Is it possible that some folks don’t like chatting? Of course. But my defense is that they have brain cells- they can tell me THEMSELVES. I intensely dislike it that she takes it upon herself to do the condescending…BTW- NO ONE ELSE who works there does that to me!! And, I’m very, very good friends with the owner, her husband, son, and most of the crowd. (It’s a small town). So, I’ve decided it’s ‘personal’. She just doesn’t like me, and looks for vents to exhale her negativity. I left tonight feeling bad, because this pub is my “oasis” from troubles. The owners son is calling me tomorrow. He will be understanding…so, I’m trying to tell you, just be yourself. You know if you’re a good guy or not. Love you, btw…

I agree that if you make it clear in your profile that you are not lookin, everyone should respect that. I find it bothersome that a person not on my “here’s what I’m looking for” statement tries to contact for intimacy, relationship. I find it disrespectful…------ This thread is Archived ------

Thanks roaan. I've made it perfectly clear on my profile. I then get asked "why are you here on this site if you're not looking"? Again, I just block them. I don't have to answer anything to anyone when they can read my profile. I'm not "hiding" away ------ This thread is Archived ------
