The way many children and young adults act, it's a miracle they can find anyone to rive a bus at all. Often the adults are held liable for any discipline as well.

There is a certain protocol that the driver did not follow and neither did his assistant. We are talking about a driver backing over mailboxes. Drivers training did not help here. Cannot keep a job not following protocol and driving reckless

That parent would have no more authority than the typical bus driver, except over their own kids on that bus. Most school buses these days have security cameras. So it is relatively easy to identify which kids are causing trouble. Now what the school district does about them is another matter.

Screaming at kids on the bus who are unruly, and then stopping the bus with orders to vacate is what did happen. Then when found out by a simple cell call by a student telling the kids to get back on the bus. Backing over mailboxes twice and leaving the scene until the Sheriff was called is pretty scary. Who would want their child to ride on a school bus these days with the driver shortage?
