I personally believe that sufficiently advanced aliens would be peace-loving, nothing like the Klingons the Klingons just wouldn't happen as they would have exterminated themselves. That's my belief. But they might just destroy the sun like that was the most normal thing in the universe. From their angle they had a perfectly good reason to destroy the sun. I believe that's what the danger would be.

I see that developing in us now. We don't fight like we used to do life has never been less physical, less violent. We don't really invade Africa and kill them directly anymore. However, we do kill Africans indirectly by being ourselves. Lockdown for example. Or climate change. These things don't come from Africa, Africans didn't need these things, but Africans die most because of these things.. the first world might be very much non-physical but we still kill the things different to we are because we have different needs.

And it would have been better for normal human beings if we had died of covid like a martian invader dies of the common cold. The normal human being would have been better off taking their chances with the virus rather than paying the upkeep for martian defences against life on earth

And I take issue with the love is all you need generation because we do not need hatred to destroy anybody different than we are. We don't even need to mean harm, life is more complicated than this. A sufficiently advanced race could kill us without even realizing. That's what I've learned in lockdown
