Youcannow: Ok . How to learn French.
Here are the options.
Take up french lessons.
Teach yourself with an audio book .
Go to France & you’ll pick it up in no time .

See . How hard was that ?
I took like 20 lessons
Audio book didnt try yet,but tried few online programs
I was many times in France. Crossed it all from Normandie till Nice
I can order smth in reataurant, ask the way...for the rest nothing

salamuna: French is not Spanish..Spanish is an easy language ..French is hard in pronunciation and understanding when they speak quickly..and they do...
All languages are difficult if not the mother tongue, Never had a problem learning French at School but struggled with the Spanish alphabet until I got used to it I must admit.

I thought my French was passable until I worked with a French person & realised it wasn’t .
The dialect was way off .
My advice is .. to learn a language you must savour the essence of the native tongue & the only way to do so is to live in the environment.

If you aren’t using the language daily you will forget it.

I got an A grade in gcse French but have forgot a lot of it cus I’ve never needed to use it.

I use Cantonese daily so I don’t forget it and my sons have learned it also.

If you want to speak the language like a native, I think that’s the only option.

Sorry disagree. I may not use a language for a long time, but as soon as I find myself in a language environment, my brain instantly switches on to a " forgotten "language

Its actually has English/Irish connections but could be connected to Scotland also as it sometimes refers to bagpipe playing.handshake
