A professor in NYC gave me this advice. I began from reading children's books. Could not understand not a single word first. But was continue to read to the end. On the third time it started to make sense.Guessing,logic and dictionary. Since then I can read better than to speak or write.

It’s very difficult to pick up a new language after the age of 27 . The younger you are , the easier it is . Kids pick up things like a sponge.
Although English is my first language, Greek was my first language & didn’t know a word of English when attending my first day at school.

It wasn't my question. I speak 4 languages fluently (I am bilingual from birth), plus 2 more languages ..at the level of A1. I d like to study specifically French. The most beautiful language on the planet. Although English is my first language, Greek was my first language & didn’t know a word of English when attending my first day at school.

Teach yourself with an audio book .
Go to France & you’ll pick it up in no time .

Yes I’ve been married twice and they both speak Cantonese. So I’ve been learning it from I was 18.
