Okay I bought a package of Bacon last friday when I went grocery shopping. I was suppose to cut it into two and freeze it as I always do but forgot because of my mom's death and being occupied etc..

It is still in the refridgerator and hasn't been opened yet. Would it still be good to consume?

I know dumb question but I am finicky when it comes to food like that LOL

And on that note since we are talking about food LOL Anyone care for a cheese omelet and some bacon with me? grin

Oh heck Tracy, I buy a pound and leave it in the fridge for up to 3 weeks as I use it. The meat is smoked so it lasts a long time refrigerated before it goes bad. I usually throw it out if it starts to turn brown or green! grin

cheese omelet & bacon! I'm on my way! hug

bacon is cured so it lasts a lot longer than a steak would sitting in the fridge!

..there is so much preservative in the stuff you could probably leave it in the driveway for 4 weeks before it rots

That's my opinion too...any "salted" or "cured" meat can stay refrigerated for much longer than undressed meat...(hope that came out right)

good morning katine....somewhere on the package is a stamped 'best before' date...in small enough print that you'll need a magnifying glass, but it's there grin , or in my case/age the reading glasses have to come out!

Cool thanks everyone! I figured that since it wasn't opened and the date expiration was Feb 18th 2007 that it should be good until then.

And don't worry once its opened its lucky it lasts 3 days LOL

Why Thank you, Thank you very much...(in my best Elvis voice lol)

One commercial I would find funny and not sure if you or anyone else ever seen it was the dog treat commercial.

The product was called "Beggin strips" or something like that and the dog would always call it Bacon. Too cute! LOL

why don't you cut it all up in small teeny weeny pieces, fry it up till it's cooked to little pieces, get a plastic container and you can use them as bacon bits for a kick butt Ceasar Salad........

that is what I do.......and end up having frikken salad all week!peace

Mmmmm I had never thought about that. I also like to make club wraps too so that would be good to use as well.

Thanks for the idea! head banger
