Yes, divorce is discussed in the Bible. It is written about in the New Testament. God allowed for what is referred to as "the hardening of one's heart". L.

To me it seems there are "gray" areas Lorraine...
God is not pleased with divorces, but allows for such things...his only firm resolve is in the parents not hurting the children by their actions...or at least from what I gather...

It seems to be Corinthians and Matthew...though I believe Paul speaks about it too....
I know that God considers a marriage a "contract" and that certain breeches in that contract he allows for...though He does not come right out and say it...its what i mean about "interpretations" of the same words...

I thought it was written about in the Book of Matthew. The Book of Corinthians was written by Paul. My understanding is that while God does not like divorce, He made allowances for it, hence the reference to "the hardening of the heart". L.
He answered them, "What did Moses command you?" They said, "Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce, and to put her away." But Jesus said to them, "For your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment." (Mark 10:5 RSV)

Don't criticize something that you haven't tried. Try reading the four Gospels (the first four Books of the New Testament) or any Books in the New Testament that were written by Paul. L.

dont badmouth people who believe in something you dont know anything about. Reading the bible and understanding what God said is a important part of lfe and makes your life a better place to be in. l think before you make judgements against something you should read it and then make your comments. l agree Spagooch, maybe he does need a hug.

wikked l am sorry if you took that to mean that you should read the bible to be happy....no it was meant for the guy who said the bible was crap and that he would never read anything like that if it was the last thing on earth to read....l could tell you were a christian just be what you have said and would never force what l believe on anyone else....sorry again

Sorry what i should have added is my reply was directed at Scouser for him to understand that i was not "corralled" or "brainwashed" in any way...I educated myself as far as "religion" goes and chose something that i could believe in....my other option was not to believe in anything...and that would not have worked for me...
