If any Alumini would to share things they have learned from the school of hard knocks for new students coming in then please post here. Experience can sometimes be a good teacher.
I have been at the bottom of that barrell several times in my life due to poor choices I have made. I am stubborn and refuse to stay down. I just pull on my knee boots, wade thru the muck and start climbing back up the sides of that barrell until I can see over the edge again. It is not easy, it takes determination,, but I have found that what helps me the most is that I know I can do it! I have lost almost everything I had several times and when that happens it is just one more trial in this adventure I call my life!
Losing my life partner I can understand when you say "I". One does have to just get back on the horse that threw you or pull one's self up by one's one bootstraps.
I don’t know what to tell you. I’m pretty much at the bottom of the barrel right now. If I knew how to climb out of it I would.
We can’t always get what we want, and money makes all the difference in the world, don’t let anyone ever tell you any different. My problems are almost entirely financially related. In fact, they are absolutely entirely financially related. No question about it.
Lack of financial independence prevents me from dating. Love is tied to money more than people realize. As are health issues.
wow girl i was really touched by what you just said... cheers to you i always try to be positive even when everything is crashing i try to find atleast one good thing i can squeeze some light from...
I THOUGHT THE LITE SHON OUTA MI ARR WOOPS NEARLY LOST CONTROL AGAIN. DONT FORGET THE PAST IT SHOULD MAKE IT EASIER TO AVOID REPEATING ANY BAD CHOICES IN THE FUTURE. N GOOD VIBES
ITS A SHAME THE LEADERS ON THIS PLANET HAVENT PROGRESSED FROM THE PRIMAL SWAMP OF BARBARISM AND THE MAJORITY ARE SUCKED IN BY THEIR DEVIOUSNESS. N GOOD VIBES.I THINK IM GUNNER GET PIMPLES ON MI BUTT IF I DONT GO EN DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE IN MI SHED HARD PAYIN BILLS WITHOUT THE BREAD N HONEY. STILL
... the bottom of the barrel would have been nice to aspire to, in a former existance.
I was living on the streets, had not eaten for 5 days, in a European country that I didnt speak the language, and was in dire need of a little luck.
Although James is right, money does help a lot, there are other things that also help.
The ability to look at a misfortune and see an opportunity is probably the biggest one.
I did. Since then, I have had, lost, had and lost money, and am in the process of acquiring it again, so that I can spend it on wine, women and song, and then waste the rest.
We all have inherrent abilities that we take for granted, that due to our ignorance of the system and lack of motivation, we do not use to their best abilities.
It sometimes takes someone to show you what you have and how to use it, so that you can make a difference.
For all those who have looked up to the bottom of the barrel.
Health issues can be a problem when you are single. Many people do not want to deal with someone who is not like Mary Poppins "Practically perfect in every way!" And finances can make things harder in every part of your life.
My life has been a continual rollarcoaster ride.....even though its slowed down into a fairis wheel speed.....lol....have been close to deaths grasp about six times....hope I still have three left....I finally figured out the hard way not to live in the past or dwell on it too long....I have decided its much better to learn and laugh from it....atleast it has made me so much stronger.....I have been shot at and missed....hungry but not starved....loved and hated....angry and sad....never rich but plenty poor....and so life is good and goes on...and I really look forward to what is around the corner good or bad....because I know that "One sure thing in life I can count on is change"....the biggest difference now is my attitude.....I try to find some humor in everything that comes my way....
TabooN, you have graduated from your own SoHK's program with honours; no need to repeat the courses. Taking the roads least traveled usually leaves you along the side somewhere as a "hit & run victim", or lost on a dead end. If you manage to make it back to the main highways of Life. Remember your mistakes, but know that on any new road, you'll make new mistakes and new bad choices. Expect the worse and if it doesn't happen, it'll be a nice surprise. It's mostly hit an' miss despite all your plans. Guardian Angels, go AWOL, fall asleep, whatever; don't depend on any. Sum it all up by live and let die, but don't walk away when you are the only one who can help or least try.... And yes, money IS everything on this plane of existence. It buys or rents everything, everyone; be it material or emotional; take advantage of Sales....no refunds.
