Really sad story just came knocking at my door.....a young couple down the street......had three beautiful children.....looked like they were doing fine from a distance.....the Father just came crying to me that they took their children away.....because they found pot in the house......now they will also loose housing.....he was so upset......shaking.....but I told him that he has to decide what is most important in life.....and to get help......but I couldn't really say too much....because I have not walked in those shoes.....the Father said....."I wanted to talk to you because I knew you would understand".......I told him to be strong.....because the children will need him later......that they will need him when he gets well....I was just lost for words........and that is unusual for me and my big mouth.....but I told him to promise not to do anything crazy....that I was here to talk to.....and all I could do was give him a hug.....I could not be judgemental.....since I don't know the whole story....then I still can't judge.....everyone looses.....especially the children.....even if they are not with the parents....

One of the countless reasons I support NORML.
Awful, kids being taken to an unknown place...

A little pot = reading a story to your kids or laughing at the TV, eating something and enjoying some time with your family then falling asleep.

OR

A jug of whiskey, and a pack of cigarettes = well do the freeking math.

Well ... Janet i believe, he knew what he was doing and knew about the circumstances coming. However children are the victims in this situation, yes they are. So sad

And you did your best ... he might to remember your hug and it will help him to understand a whole situation more clearly

It is so sad....rips at my heart.....I have seen all sides of these kinds of stories.....from the parents....children....foster children....foster parents....grandparents.....law enforcement....all end up crying.....Drugs have taken such a strong hold on our society....I heard the crying sobs of children my daughter was fostering.....at night for their parents....I wiped the tears of my daughters eyes as she tried to hold them and rock them to sleep....I cried too

I have also tried to comfort my friend in law enforcement and my brother in corrections....they have feelings also....and see the incarceration end of the stories....everyone suffers emotionally
