They were just being young boys riding their bikes!!!! I know if that happened to me I would have to get radical.....no doubt in my mind.....how the Father had the strength to even face this man in Court while he was breathing is beyond my comprehension......And to think in six years he's free to do it again.....What the hell is wrong with our laws???????

The laws evidently need to get tougher in the U.S. and in Canada. Police need to be able to enforce them, get them into the court system and have charges stick with appropriate penalties - especially for repeat offenders.

Some people still don't get it - you can't drink and then drive. They figure the rules apply to everyone else or that they are too harsh. Unfortunately it takes something like this to get people thinking again....

Sad but true...

I have a question for all of you...

So what are you all drinking now????

Bet he didn't plan on going kid killing...no-one does....and the "it

won't happen to me" happened to him..and two little boys.

I try to stay within Society's forms of justice, but if that was my

kid...the driver would beg me to kill him, by the time I finished

with him...very mad

nothing wrong with drinking (within reason)

drinking and operating machinery in public well that is wrong 4 sure

but to insinuate that because someone may be drinking while posting on the computer is wrong

is just wrong in itself

just a thought

but hey what do i know

Yep...and you are right...but how many people take drinking for granted???...don't even think about it...

I was trying to make a point, albeit not a very clear one...

We live in a society where alcohol is so acceptable, and accessible..and forget how easy it is to be one too many over the limit, and just zoom down the shop for cigarettes and the paper.

Sorry my post was not clearer Robin...

Well ... Lee I would disagree with you

He DID plan on going to kill somebody ... because he was drinking and driving ..... he was drunk at the moment when it happened.

It was unintentional plan for killing. He should know better ... not to drive in a drunk condition

no need to be sorry lee

i was kinda surprised you posted it in that manner

drinking and driving is very wrong

and w/multiple offenses and vehicular homicide involved
should have gotten more than 6 yrs

they will likely be out in two if not sooner

just plain bad system

and should not be tolerated

At the Local tavern where I use to work the bartenders give me a ride home when I need and my jeep stays at the bar. The next morning I either call a friend for a ride or walk to the bar, about 2 miles away.

I have gotten a dui before but I was barely over .o8 (or three beers) and it has been about 10 years.

When I get off work some times at midnight I will go down to the bar and have a coke or two then give friends that are intoxicated a ride home.

Hell what else is there to do at 1 in the morning

using this logic then even if you don't drink and drive a vehicle

get in a collision and kill someone then you are as quity as the drinker

because you know vehicle collisions are a leading cause of death

i don't think the guy said to himself i'm gonna get drunk so i can kill someone

be realistic

if you fall down the steps and kill yer pet at the bottom does that mean you planned it cause it was a possibility

I'm very realistic ...and if you,Robin was following my logic, you should understand what I'm talking about.

He was DRUNK when he killed those boys. DRUNK is a key word

He should stay home

Read Photo post... he made it all clear.

i understand the logic

but the logic covers many

aspects

we do agree in principle

just disagree on logic

it's called taking resposibility for ones actions. Whether one is drunk or not it is still manslaughter with a vehicle. But being impaired just makes it all the worse.

And I shall leave the subject two other just had to place my .02$ in there

That guy should've gotten more than 6 years. Considering this is his second and in a case like this, should be hit as a habitual offender.

I drove once seeing double after a party in a state where first offense is/was (20 someodd years ago) an automatic one year loss of drivers license......North Carolina. I didn't get caught but scared the hell out of me and I never drove that drunk again.

For about the past ten - twelve years, my drinking has been almost non-existant. When I do, I'll have one or two, mainly beer

A man in Battle Creek Michigan hit and ran after hitting an 88 year old man that was crossing the street in a 25 mile an hour zone. They found the driver because of the mirror that broke off his car when he hit the man.

The guy was sitting at home like nothing happened. No guilt....he was driving on a suspended license. But the odds are even if it wasnt suspended he would have been driving down that road, at that time, and hit the man anyway!

If he would have been drinking, would the situation be worse? I dont think so, I think its as bad as it could be.sigh
