...It occured to me today, while building a bookcase, that I was doing exactly the same thing that men have been doing since time began:

Making little pieces of wood out of big pieces of wood so that I could put the little pieces of wood together and make something big made out of wood!

(My apologies if this is a little too deep or profound for most to digest this time of evening!grin )

I used to build houses from the ground up, foundation to roof. Profound is partly what you make it... and partly what you're taking at the time...

Actually, I really liked this. I just returned from the garage, fixing up an old crock of a bike. Zip ties used to hold the battery down. I restored another old battery box, and now it's bolted in properly. The zip ties worked just fine, but it just wasn't right. Wait. Where was I going with this...?

i enjoy working with wood. the heartwood in australian hardwoods is not muich good for anything other than fire wood and i never epiffany out .banana banana cheering
