Dunno about England but in Scotland you can't drink in the street so when you go out for a cig you can't take your drink with you.

if there had been a vote for it though, the majority would have voted for a ban! there has been polls on the ban since and an overwhelming majority agree with it.

The smoking ban isn't actually as bad as it first seems. As a smoker myself, i was pissed off about it, but the benefits outweigh the cons.

Most places have smoking areas you to go to, you smoke a LOT less on a night out, I sometimes went through 30 in a night out, now I hardly make a dent in a 20 pack. The hangovers are also a lot easier as you don't have that tight feeling in your chest from smoking too much. And although everyone thinks there'll be loads of fights cos folk can't smoke inside, it's actually quite good crack when you're all outside.

If anyone still thinks it's too much and has to quit, go to your doctor and ask for zyban, some places still use it. It's brilliant, I quit no problem on it and lasted 8 months, unfortunately started again though lol, but the pills work great.
