I worked for a dentist at the time where I used to send in scrap dental gold of patients who didn't want it, in exchange for cash.
During one of the mailings I sent our wedding rings along. Got $40.00 for them.

They can be melted down and made into other jewelry. Men's wedding bands cut in half make great earrings and is very theraputic.

I took a pair of wire cutters, and cut them(mine and hers) up in "little bitty pieces"! Then I sent them back to her that way.

I wear mine on the right hand. Its platinum with diamonds and you cant tell it is a wedding ring.. Plus since my mum paid for the rings as our wedding gift, I see it as just that, a ring my mum bought me!
