as an ex psychiatrist, I have noticed thatm ental illness has incrementalized 1000 per cent. My hypothesis is that the internet the invisibility of everything, the no there there which is now a global phenomenon is isolating peole, making relationships almost imposible became when peole play the internet they are playing in a way gaming or gambling so as you know how gamblers are lost in amerika peole are lost on the internet. What I am trying to focuson is technology on if you are not a tech geek, your chances of functioning optimally in this world are severely limited. the other problem with many forums is political correctness. the irony is the internet allows people to be who they are but with all the rules imposed, it sort of silences them once again leading to silence. case in point you can tel someone on the internet to go themselves. but since they cannot hear your voice, they cannot really respond. It woulf d be like me walking outside and there was no noise complete silence the dogs could not bark- I would not mind that. I want to k now if others feel that technology is desatroying their lives.In amerika there are now stories about peole getting 3,00 e mails a week and saying if I respond to my e mails , I cannot sleep- so you see how technology has become a predator and noone on the internet wants to discuss it because they are afraid of exposing themselves or coming out. are you folling me- inafunk

Technology has vastly improved my life in many ways but my security and privacy has been limited. If you want complete freedom, then you must give up security.

Therefore, I think your hypothesis is incorrect and you can fight by allowing yourself only so much time on the net per day, or give it up altogether.

Your Conclusions are all wrong

For a self proclaimed college educated(as a psychiatry degree requires of a person) individual, your messege reflects otherwise. You've obviously thought about the net quite a bit but you may be psychoanalyzing more your own inability to cope with the social aspects of internet protocols than accurately diagnosing any real "mental illness" aspects of the WWW.

...sorry if it comes across bluntly, that's just what I perceive from your messege.

I'm sure many people have found an easy way to feed their inner monster via the net, but these are the same people who would havejust as likely found another means outside of the WWW to do so. The net doesn't make people in America weak, their own issues(possibly brougth on by a very Freudian 'blame someone else' mentality excuse) do. Since the net is here to stay, concider it a part of human evolution... even if that evolution seems directionless(or counter productive), afterall "devolution" is still actually evolution.

Hahahahaha!!! You touch one of my favorites subjects. Psychiatrists...

First i don't belive anything whatever psychiatrists say. Just take a moment and think how many years took them to built such extremely complex ideas about human psychology and behaviour...Only few years. Not think how many years it took for other sciences to come up with complex ideas on how nature works. It took a long long times.


Concerning research psycologists and psychiatrists make i would like to say that are all purely statistical. But...they never know how to perform a reliable statistical analysis...It's a whole science...So i can never understand who psychiatrits come up with these strange ideas. Like technology is something that brought problems into humans lives...

Technology made humans understand things. It made them able to improve their lives. As for the internet "chimera" i think you are a bit wrong. Internet made possible for humans to communicate. It has is flaws and it's consequences must be dealt with serious researches not some "personal vies".
