there is certainly a higher power than ourselves.
With our egos it's hard to believe, but at least we
imagine that there are other people around other

Those "virtues" came with the information that includes

Past lives, my personal opinion ( to which I am entitled,tyvm) is yes, very possible and entirely likely.
Various cultures have their positions / opinions regarding past lives, reincarnation, etc,; we have rationalists, scientists, any sort of *ist* you care to toss in here, each with their own opinion.
They complement one another simply by being DIFFERENT, because the world would be a Very Boring place if we all thought exactly the same way. To those who do not *believe, that is your opinion, to which you are entitled.
While sometimes the "..you shouldn't be together but yet you don't know why you stay?" is for dysfunctional reasoning, there may indeed be a greater purpose being served. And as another poster commented, questions like these do indeed show you the character of others.
