Well I have a couple of these. The first one I want to tell about happened to me and a friend while playing softball a couple of years back. The stupid officials are always reluctant to call the game in bad weather. Sometimes even in Lightning. Our team is a foul mouthed team. Earlier in the game we were warned for using the "F" word. It was the top of the seventh the clouds had been darkening for three innings. All of a sudden a funnel appeared in the sky out of my view, but within the view of the left fielder he yelled, "What the *uck", to which another player warned,"hey man we just got warned about swearing dude." to which he replied,"*uck that, that's a Tornado." Sure enough a funnel cloud had appeared during our game. We all ran for our cars and got there just in time to see all hell break loose. Thanks to the officials we almost got the game in. Lucky no one died!! Great Officiating again!!

That was funny...
Back a few years ago, there was a tornado going by, but it was about four miles down the road...It must have been a very strong and mighty wind...It flew the frount door open and it was completely shut and the door know was locked...It isn't as ironic or funny as your story but still true...

I live in Phoenix, AZ, a place known for its dry hot weather. A few years ago we had a huge storm that blew winds of up to 80 mph. It was like being in a hurricane. Houses were shaking, roof tiles were flying all over the place, there was so much dust that you couldnt see teo feet infront of you. The weather man called them micro-bursts, but that was the day that a hurricane hit AZ

Well I was waiting for some action i here before I posted my next novel:

I was on the pier in Charlevoix Michigan as a young child fishing. The Pier connects Lake Charlevoix with Lake Michigan. A migty storm caught my Grand Father and Me out on the end of the pier which is about 1/4 mile of rocks. We were stranded there as pitch forked lightning came down all around us. I have never been so scared since. When we finally made our way off the pier, the lightning hadn't subsided. We attempted to go to a couple of houses to get out of the storm, but niether of them would let us in, go figure? We just stood under the awning of a local building untill the storm passed. I was horrified as a child by this and the memory still remains as you can tell.

April 3, 1974. A Tornado ripped through Mason Ohio, Killing at least one person. I remember seeing that tornado. All in all 148 tornados from April 3 to April 4.

April 9, 1999. An F-3, localized F-4 tornado ripped through Montgomery, Blueash and Loveland (Where I was living at the time) here in Ohio. The tornado did a great amount of damage, killing a few people. It missed my house in Loveland by a quarter of a mile.

On April 16, 1998, at least ten tornadoes hit Middle Tennessee. Five funnel clouds formed over Nashville and three touched down in the busiest parts of the city, causing major (I mean warzone-like) damage throughout downtown, East Nashville, and beyond.

I was working in the downtown district at The Tennessean at the time and, in order to keep us from potentially being hit from flying, broken glass from the windows, we were all herded down into the morgue for a couple hours.

It was crowded, hot and stuffy in there, with probably nearly a couple hundred people all milling around, just waiting to hear some news.

One of the advertising directors was given a megaphone and reported that the tornadoes were upon us. We didn't have to hear that from him, though, as that was evident by the howling winds and the eerie stillness and atmospheric pressure all around us.

At one point, a man came up to him and whispered in his ear. The room fell silent as this one guy approached his way to the crates the AD had been standing on and said something to him.

The A.D. got on the megaphone and announced, "Mr. Jones, your 3 o'clock interview is here."

The entire place burst into thunderous applause and cheers. And, yes, the guy got the job.

yay yay grin yay yay
