Can you explain what's problem with Internet Explorer (IE) running under Vista? IE is part of the Vista operating system, and works as soon as Vista is installed.
Regarding Skype, I don't use it, thus can offer any help.
Skype wins, as a means of communication, hands down, but Vista I'm told has a few bugs to be sorted....you can download XP in addition, though..........
Hardly anything at all is compatible with Vista at the moment, if you re install internet explorer you shouldn't have any other problems.............I had a large problem with skype though, interfering with the Messenger, Messenger wouldn't open with the skype running, no plug in etc available for skype. I've deleted skype, prefer to use Messenger anyway
Skype will install and run under Vista. You'll be able to call others, and even the beta video feature will work.
However, if anyone tries to call your computer, they will receive a "rejection" message saying that you only accept calls from people in your contact list. This will happen even if the caller is in your contact list, or you have configured Skype to accept calls from all callers.
The reason for this is the Windows Firewall. For some reason, it will allow outbound internet access by Skype, but it blocks in-bound calls. To correct this, open Windows Firewall in the Control Panel, select "Allow a program through the firewall," and manually check Skype.
That was first thing that i've done when i've brought that baby to my house
but ...
Protection is so tough that even by changing priorities and allows, there is no way to be sure they will work. But it's Okay .... I really do like Vista
it reminds me Mac and Damn hey .... 64 processor 3800 +1.87GB Ram, 2.42 GHz
Memory 1919 MB and 32- bit operating system ........ Love it A lot to play with
Oh btw i forgot to activate Windows ....... Gosh! so silly of me ... Gonna do it now
I have the Vista Premium. It's a little more advance than the regular Vista. Only because it has more junk in it. I can’t even send a regular word document as an attachment to yahoo or AOL mail. For some reason, there document generator is not familiar with the Vista word processor format.
Oh and you can forget about a few Java applications. It sends me to a page letting me know that Windows will no longer support Java due to a court ruling.
been using Vista for months, once things are set up it's a beauty to work with, you coul also try contacting skype again and seeing if they have additional plug ins available, when I asked I was told there would be some ready in the following weeks, I don't use the windows firewall but use Norton instead, mind you mines a domestic set up and not for professional purposes. Lovely pix by the way
Btw, regarding your word documents, save them with the .doc extension and not the .docx one. From the drop down in Save As window, select an older version of Word.
Excuse me for not giving you much more details, but I don't use MS Office 2007.
