conversing
Communication is a must for anyone, who is seeking peace in this darn world. If there is no communication, there will be no peace.Keeping your feelings inside, brings confusion and alot of misunderstandings.I know that it takes an open mind and a clear head,to communicate, these days. How many of you out there have problems like this, and need to get it out in the open?

I have some problems with communication. I don't deal will with remarks, so I tend to walk away rather then to talk about them.
Like on here, I find it easier to not say anything then to hurt someone I don't even know. I don't deal well with rude people......

Sorry to again use the Moody Blues as the example of how I live my life...

"I've said my piece, and I...leave it all up to you."

Being assertive is stating how you feel, or how a persons actions make you feel. They themselves are not what hurt you, but what they do. This gives them the option of either modifying their behavior, or leaving, without feeling like you've personally attacked them...

"Your tone of voice makes me feel like you don't care how I feel."

See how this differs from:

"You don't care how I feel!"

Anyway...I would say communication is great, but effective communication is better...its how we treat others that dictates whether what we say has any sort of impact...

I am from Halifax Nova Scotia and have been brought up to be blunt but over the years I have had to learn less brutal ways to express myself.
I didn't like the way people I cared about got hurt bye what I said and tried bettering the way I spoke through the years to prevent that but yet say the same thing.
So I try to be tackful yet humble in my expressions so as not to belittle nor demean people I care about.

I agree communication is very important. It takes two.
I was very shy and a quiet gal, growing up.
Now, I can be blunt at times then more reserved at other times.
